For many years now, I have been doing a lot of spiritual work including alternative therapies. My exploration led me to discover the wonderful world of clinical hypnotherapy. From my experience, I have proven that they work very well hand in hand—working with the mind in different ways while addressing the same issues.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Also commonly referred to as guided hypnosis, hypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy that makes use of extreme concentration, intense attention, and relaxation to achieve a heightened state of mindfulness or consciousness. Simply put, you are placed in a “trance” or altered state of awareness.

This form of therapy is classified as alternative medicine and its primary purpose it to utilise your mind to help alleviate a variety of issues including phobias, dangerous or unhealthy habits (i.e. drinking or smoking), and psychological stress.

Can Hypnotherapy Help You?

Hypnotherapy is used to treat a vast array of issues, conditions, and unwanted/unhealthy behaviours, including:

  • Addiction
  • Anxiety
  • Sleeping disorders
  • Depression
  • Phobias
  • Family/work/relationship conflicts
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Cessation of smoking

What are Some of the Prevalent Methods Used in Hypnotherapy?

Two primary methods are used in hypnotherapy—analysis and suggestion therapy.

Suggestion Therapy

Suggestion therapy will rely on the individual’s ability to respond to guidance and suggestions from the hypnotherapist while in an altered or trance-like state. This method is often used to combat unhealthy and unwanted behaviours like gambling, smoking, excessive eating, and even nail biting.

Analysis Therapy

Analysis therapy is considered effective if you want to dig into the subconscious to retrieve past traumas or repressed memories. These repressed memories might be causing distress and problematic behaviours.

This method is also known as regression therapy. The primary aim of this method is to identify the root cause of the issue or disorders.

Is Hypnotherapy Right for You?

During the FREE consultation I will provide, we will discuss any issues you want to address. The session will also help you familiarise yourself with the surroundings. More importantly, the consultation will help you decide if hypnotherapy is the best option for you.

At the initial consultation, I can also start planning your therapy if that is what you prefer. Since I believe individuals deal with things in different ways, I will be creating bespoke scripts that will best suit your needs.

Our consultation sessions will typically last for an hour.

What Can You Expect from Purethoughts?

At Purethoughts, helping you is my primary priority. In line with this, I will be charging per session as opposed to per hour. This is so we can be more thorough with the treatment and you won’t have to worry about fitting everything in a single session.
